John Patterson, MD Cardiologist
Dr. John Patterson is a cardiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of the South at Lafayette General. He began his studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he received his Bachelor of Science and his Doctorate of Medicine.
Dr. Patterson completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology and interventional cardiology fellowships at Wake Forest University/Bowman Gray Medical Center. He is trained in coronary intervention with a focus on complex coronary disease as well as structural heart disease with closure of patent foramen ovales and atrial septal defects.
Before joining the CIS team, Dr. Patterson held the title of Medical Director of Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories since 2004 at Winston-Salem Cardiology, and served as Medical Director of Cardiovascular Research from 2003 to 2010 at Forsyth Medical Center in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Dr. Patterson is a member of the American College of Cardiology. He is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology.
