Dr. Salvaggio joined Cardiovascular Institute of the South in 2012 as a cardiologist in Lafayette.
Dr. Salvaggio earned his doctorate at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans. He completed his internal medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in Baton Rouge, and continued his studies at Ochsner Heart and Vascular Institute, where he completed his cardiology fellowship. Lastly, he completed his interventional cardiology fellowship at Scripps Clinic in San Diego, California.
Dr. Salvaggio is board certified in internal medicine, cardiology, and interventional cardiology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, Louisiana State Medical Society, American College of Cardiology, and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology. He was also named the Ochsner Medical Center Fellow of the Year in 2010.
