Dr. Jody Stagg was born in New Orleans and raised in Eunice, Louisiana.  He is a graduate of the University of Florida and LSU Medical School.  Following his internship and residency at the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, Dr. Stagg completed a cardiology fellowship at Ochsner Foundation Hospital.

He is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease.  He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology, the American College of Physicians, the American College of Angiology, the American Society of Cardiovascular Interventionists, the Society for Cardiac Angiography and Interventions and the International College of Angiology.

In 1987, when the CIS clinical research program was launched, Dr. Stagg was appointed director of peripheral interventions.  He was the first physician in Louisiana to perform laser angioplasty, and has become a leader in the field of peripheral vascular disease.  He is author/co-author of more than 40 publications and presentations in his specialty, including a number of presentations to international medical audiences.  Dr. Stagg has served several terms as a member of the state board of the American Heart Association.
