Interventional Cardiologist
Dr. David Homan joined CIS in 2017 as an interventional cardiologist in Opelousas.
He attended Augustana College in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, where he majored in chemistry. He earned his medical doctorate from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine in Maywood, Illinois, where he graduated with honors in bioethics and professionalism. At the same university, he completed an internship and residency in internal medicine.
Dr. Homan continued his training at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, where he served as chief cardiology fellow and was named cardiology fellow of the year. He attended Scripps Green in La Jolla, California, to train in interventional cardiology.
Before joining CIS, Dr. Homan worked at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, Louisiana as an interventional cardiologist. He is a member of many professional organizations, including the American College of Cardiology and the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions. He has written and published multiple presentations and medical book reviews.
