Jacquelyn Ordonez is a Nurse Practitioner at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Houma, La. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Louisiana Christian University (previously Louisiana College) a Master of Science in Nursing from Northwestern State University and a Post-Graduate Certification in Cardiovascular Nursing from University of Louisiana Lafayette. She aims to begin her Doctorate in Nursing Practice in the near future.
Ordonez began her nursing career in 2011 in the Medical ICU at Rapides Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Alexandria, LA. During her eight years at RRMC, she served as ICU staff nurse, charge nurse, and nurse coordinator. Jacquelyn was able to serve a wide variety of patients at RRMC being a Heart Hospital, Stroke Center, and Level II Trauma Center. During this time, she became a Certified Critical Care Registered Nurse and a Trauma Certified Registered Nurse.
Ordonez is board certified as an Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner and maintains her Critical Care Registered Nurse certification through the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. She is licensed as a Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner by the state of Louisiana.
She is a member of the American Nurses Association, the Louisiana Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Honor Society.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling with her husband Robert, reading, cooking, gardening, spending time with her two fur babies, Peaches and Annie, as well as her seven nieces and nephews.
