Interventional Cardiologist
Dr. Krishna Nagendran is an interventional cardiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS) in New Iberia.
Dr. Nagendran previously practiced at CIS in Lafayette for seven years as well as at CIS affiliate Midwest Cardiovascular Institute in Naperville, Illinois. He specializes in the treatment of peripheral artery disease and venous disease in the legs.
Dr. Nagendran earned his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery at Sri Ramachandra Medical College in India. He completed his internal medicine residency at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. He completed his general cardiology fellowship, heart failure/transplant fellowship and interventional cardiology fellowship at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he was also named chief cardiology fellow. Dr. Nagendran has also received many awards, including the New York Methodist Administrative Award and the Best Teaching Resident Award.
Dr. Nagendran is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology. He is also a member of the American College of Cardiology and the American College of Physicians.
