Lisa Freyou serves as a nurse practitioner for CIS New Iberia and brings more than 20 years of experience to the institute.
Freyou received her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the University of Southwestern Louisiana and her Master’s Degree from the University of South Alabama. She is board certified as an acute care nurse practitioner and holds a board certification in cardiovascular nursing in acute and non-acute care, levels one and two. She is also certified in heart failure.
Prior to joining CIS, Freyou was employed by Iberia Medical Center as an intensive care unit staff registered nurse, emergency room staff registered nurse and post anesthesia care unit manager.
In 2015, Freyou was named a Great 100 Nurse for her concern for humanity, contribution to the profession of nursing and her mentoring of others. She was also nominated for a Nightingale Award, recognizing her quality service, commitment, and excellence.
Freyou is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, American College of Cardiovascular Nursing (ACCN), Louisiana Advanced Practice Nurses, Cambridge Who’s Who, and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.
