Executive Vice President of Practice Management
Mitzi Benoit serves as the Executive Vice President of Practice Management for Cardiovascular Institute of the South (CIS).
Benoit brings more than 23 years of healthcare experience to CIS. She is responsible for all clinic operations in the Lafayette region, including staff development and management, and day-to-day clinic oversight. She is also the executive leader of the Medical Staff Office at CIS, providing high level management for all credentialing and provider enrollment operations. Prior to this role, Benoit served as the Executive Vice President of Operations, where she managed the CIS Virtual Care Center, Intensive Cardiac Rehab, and Telecardiology programs at CIS, as well as other strategic service lines and special projects.
Benoit originally joined the CIS team in 2015 as the Practice Administrator for the Lafayette Southwest location. She was promoted to Virtual Care Center Administrator in 2017, where she transitioned the Virtual Care Center to a 24/7 operation and helped expand the service lines offered to include mobile cardiac telemetry, remote Warfarin management, and the NP night call program.
Benoit attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, where she earned both a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a Master of Business Administration with a Certification in Health Care Administration.
Before joining CIS, Benoit worked in various leadership and executive roles at both Schumacher Clinical Partners and LHC Group.
In 2020, she earned the CIS All Star Award, which is presented to an outstanding team player that demonstrates an all star’s attitude and dedication. In 2023, Benoit received the CIS Ace Award, presented to the person who is an unsung hero, a leader for all, and a star in the eyes of our patients, physicians, and staff. The recipient of this award carries on the mission, vision, and values held true by the physicians and staff of CIS.
Benoit is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) and the Medical Group Management Association (MGMA).
