Interventional Cardiologist
Dr. Wes Bennett is an interventional cardiologist at Cardiovascular Institute of the South in Meridian.
He earned his bachelor’s degree in biology at Tulane University in New Orleans, and his doctorate at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine in Jackson where he also completed his internal medicine residency and cardiology fellowship.
Dr. Bennett has practiced cardiology in Meridian since 1990. He served as Chief of Staff at both Riley Hospital and Anderson Regional Medical Center, where he worked as the medical director of the cardiac catheterization laboratory and director of the cardiology division. He also served as medical director of the Congestive Heart Failure Management Center and medical director of the Chest Pain Center at Anderson.
Dr. Bennett is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology and has earned the designation of diplomate in all three areas. He is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the Mississippi State Medical Association, the Guardian Society at the University of Mississippi School of Medicine, and the American Medical Association. He has also been published in numerous publications, including The American Journal of Cardiology.
